Walk and Learn about Sackets Harbor and the War of 1812
Info: This trail is a gravel/crushed stone and boardwalk trail with many historic signs with facts about Sackets and its part in the War of 1812. Museum and exhibit area nearby (admission). The trail has been expanded quite a bit and travels through neighboring fields with a monument and a greater length than previously. Nice views of Lake Ontario in some sections.
Update 2013 – Future expansion will make this 5+ miles long and continue around the outside of the village to Madison Barracks.
Directions: The entrance is at the Sackets Harbor Battlefield. Take Route 3 West from Watertown, bear right to Sackets Harbor from Route 3 at signs, turn right onto West Main Street and follow it to the ending.
